Couple of Rewarding Steps

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

The Walgreens API team just wanted to reach out and share some great news regarding an improved on-boarding process for our challenge.

The new steps are:

  • Sign up as a contest participant on the Walgreens Challenge page.
  • Sign up on our Developer Portal to request an API key.
  • Send an email to the Walgreens API team to provide Walgreens with a redirect_uri for the initial test build of your app.
    • We require this redirect_uri as it is how we callback to your website after the oAuth Request is complete.
    • The redirect_uri can be something as simple as http://localhost:80/br/callback/.
  • Walgreens will then invite you to a dedicated http://basecamp.com project to help you start and finish your integration.
  • Walgreens will provide a “credentials summary” with an API key, affiliate_id and user login account for your app which is authorized to access the Walgreens test environment.
  • You drink coffee, integrate, and dance. Repeat as necessary.
  • You send us a build of your app that can be tested by our awesome QA team.
  • We run QA testing on the integration of the API.
    • If there are issues we report back via the Basecamp project.
    • Assuming there are no issues/bugs, we setup an official affiliate_id and redirect_uri for your app in our production environment.
  • You send us a production build of your app that can be tested by our awesome QA team.
    • If there are issues we report back via the Basecamp project.
    • Assuming there are no issues/bugs, we give you the Go-Ahead to go submit your app to the applicable App Store.
  • You will officially submit your contest entry with all applicable entry information at http://walgreens.challengepost.com/submissions/new

Whatever step you might be along in this process we wanted to show you all of the steps to success in this challenge.

So, get out there and start integrating now! We look forward to see the amazing ideas you come up with!

Happy Hacking!
